Terms & Conditions
These terms apply when you engage Septimius Security Services L.L.C. for protective services in the UAE or abroad.
Acceptance of Terms
By engaging Septimius Security Services L.L.C. or accessing this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept any part of these terms, you may not use our services. Operational engagements are additionally governed by a signed service agreement that takes precedence over this page where the two differ.
Services
Septimius Security Services L.L.C., registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates under Trade License #1401129, is a SIRA-approved private security operator. Disciplines include executive protection, close protection officers, personal security details, residential security, secure transport, and evacuation operations. UAE deployments are unarmed in accordance with local regulation. Deployments outside the UAE are armed only where the laws of the host jurisdiction permit and an appropriate licence is in place.
Engagement and Vetting
All engagements begin with a written brief and a counter-signed service agreement specifying scope, duration, posture, officer assignment, and pricing. Officers are drawn from our vetted bench and subject to background checks, regulatory licensing (SIRA in the UAE; equivalent authorities in other jurisdictions), and operational sign-off. Substitutions are made only with client approval except where operational continuity requires immediate cover.
Payment and Invoicing
Fees, billing cycles, and payment terms are set out in the service agreement. Long-term retainers are typically invoiced monthly in advance. Ad-hoc engagements are invoiced on completion or pro-rata for engagements spanning a billing cycle. Late payment may result in suspension of services on notice. All amounts are quoted exclusive of UAE VAT unless stated otherwise.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation windows and refund eligibility are specified in the service agreement. Standby officers, secured vehicles, and pre-positioned assets booked for a specific window are non-refundable once mobilised. Where an engagement is cancelled by the client before mobilisation, refund is processed less any unrecoverable third-party costs already incurred.
Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure
Septimius treats principal identity, movements, residences, family details, threat assessments, and any other information arising from an engagement as strictly confidential. All officers and support staff are bound by individual non-disclosure agreements. We do not name principals, publish operational photography, or provide testimonials without explicit written consent. Mutual NDAs covering the contracting entity are available on request.
Intellectual Property
All materials produced by Septimius, including threat assessments, route plans, advance reports, security reviews, and training documentation, remain the intellectual property of Septimius Security Services L.L.C. Clients are granted a non-transferable licence to use these materials for the protection of the named principal or facility. Reproduction, distribution, or sharing with third parties requires prior written consent.
Insurance and Limitation of Liability
Septimius maintains Professional Indemnity and Public Liability cover of USD 10,000,000 underwritten at Lloyd's of London. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Septimius's aggregate liability for any claim arising from a given engagement is limited to the fees paid by the client under the relevant service agreement in the twelve months preceding the claim. Septimius is not liable for indirect, consequential, or reputational loss. Nothing in this clause excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Force Majeure
Septimius is not liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events outside its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of war, civil unrest, government action, border closure, natural disaster, communications failure, or restrictions imposed by host-country authorities. Where such events affect an ongoing engagement, Septimius will work with the client to adjust posture, relocate, or extract the principal in accordance with the agreed contingency plan.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes arising from these terms or any service agreement are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Emirate of Dubai. Engagements performed entirely outside the UAE may be governed by the law of the host jurisdiction where specified in the service agreement.
Changes to Terms
Septimius may modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated terms take effect on publication to this page. Continued use of our services after publication constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. Material changes affecting existing engagements will be communicated in writing to the contracting party.
